The Langdon Group (TLG) facilitates and manages the Boise Forest Coalition and the Umatilla Forest Collaborative Group (UFCG). These diverse stakeholder groups work together to develop and promote balanced solutions to improve and sustain ecological resiliency and local community socioeconomic health in and near the Boise National Forest (BNF) and Umatilla National Forest (UNF). Members engage in landscape-scale and project-level analysis and planning to support the US Forest Service in reaching its management objectives. Membership includes representatives from the timber industry, conservation groups, tribes, local and state government, the USFS and other federal partners.
As lead facilitator, TLG conducts the planning and management of the monthly collaborative meetings; develops agendas and meeting notes; assists the group in identifying and building zones of agreement on forest management options; fosters constructive communication within the collaborative; facilitates small and large group discussions; works with stakeholders individually to ensure their interest are being met; and advances external communication and outreach. With the UFCG, TLG helped guide them through the NEPA process to its first consensus decision on an environmental document.
