Project Overview
The Idaho Transportation Department selected HDR and J-U-B Engineers to provide construction engineering and inspection services for this 2-year bridge rehabilitation and retrofit project. The 1,352-foot-long bridge, originally constructed in 1951, was nearing the end of its service life before undergoing a $38.2 million upgrade to enhance safety, functionality, and economic opportunity in the region.
Scope of Work
Extensive scour protection was completed on the existing pier footings prior to the removal and replacement of the bridge deck. The bridge superstructure was widened from 62 feet to 78 feet to accommodate a 4-foot center median, four 12-foot travel lanes, 6-foot shoulders, and traffic-separated 6-foot sidewalks on both sides.
