The City of Wallace contracted J-U-B Engineers (JUB) to develop an updated Comprehensive Plan to guide the City in long-term planning decisions and provide a basis for long-range planning.
Fundamental to the integrity of the Comprehensive Plan was the inclusion of meaningful public participation, early and often, to identify the community’s vision and goals for city planning. To that end, the planning process began formal kickoff meeting with City staff to discuss the purpose and goals of the plan and determine the best approach to public participation. Public involvement milestones included: key stakeholder interviews, the launch of a project website and public survey, distribution of informational literature, public open house events, and the active participation of a Technical Advisory Group. All these efforts were paramount to ensuring review and feedback from the community and its stakeholders facilitated the development of a plan tailored specifically to Wallace’s unique and historic identity.
