The Utah Legislature passed HB 429 in 2022 to create an integrated basin plan to help address declining levels of the Great Salt Lake. This plan was designed to incorporate all the past and current planning studies and science that has been gathered to manage the Great Salt Lake and develop an integrated plan in 2023. This plan will then be implemented in the following five-years to not only manage the lake but help address the rapid decline of lake levels and associated impacts.
The Langdon Group partnered with Jacobs Engineering, Hansen Allen Luce, and Clyde Snow in developing the GSL Basin Integrated Plan. TLG led the communications and partnering aspects of this project, which included conducting a situational assessment, developing a communications strategy, and forming a steering committee of a diverse team of experts to help address declining lake levels and ensure a resilient water supply for the Great Salt Lake and its watershed.
