Kootenai Forest Stakeholder Collaborative – US Forest Service, MT

The Kootenai Forest Stakeholders Collaborative (KFSC) is a Montana-made partnership of recreationalists, business owners, timber mill operators and conservationists who have come together to collaboratively improve forest management across the Kootenai Forest. The KFSC regularly organizes task forces and committees to tackle large projects with fast approaching deadlines. The KFSC has assembled the Kootenai Winter Travel Collaborative to develop a winter travel plan for the Kootenai. A document needed to be assembled quickly and with consensus to be submitted to the United States Forest Service

KFSC contracted TLG to act as a neutral third-party in facilitating their collaborative group, comprised of diverse community perspectives. TLG helps a diverse group of stakeholders find consensus through a collaboration-first style of facilitation, applying interest-based negotiation to help stakeholders find common ground. Tracy leads this effort through the facilitation of monthly executive committee meetings, stakeholder coordination, and conflict resolution.
