The City of Nampa Environmental Compliance Division’s Stormwater Outreach Program strives to improve local waterways through community engagement by providing education and outreach about the benefits of clean water, with a special focus on underserved populations. Through encouragement of individual behavior changes that result in reduced storm and wastewater pollution, the Stormwater Outreach Program directly contributes to a healthier, happier community.
Through EPA funding, for nine years, The Langdon Group worked closely with the City and community members to facilitate an advisory committee and implement community lead programs including youth educational programs, informative videos, Hispanic community engagement, educational materials and interpretative signage. The culmination of the work was the installation of demonstration rain garden designed to help educate community members about the water quality and exhibit different methods one can incorporate into personal residences to reduce contaminated stormwater runoff.
