In the interest of identifying potential efficiency in Idaho government, Governor Brad Little recommended that the Idaho Soil and Water Conservation Commission (SWCC) and Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) thoroughly evaluate combining to more effectively serve Idaho constituents. To help ensure all relevant voices are heard and considered, TLG was hired to objectively implement a strategic and inclusive process that captures feedback from a range of key stakeholder interests and broadly from the soil and water conservation community to produce recommendations for a successful integration with IDWR. The key milestones in the process were a key stakeholder situational assessment, statewide survey of all interested parties, facilitated workshop among representatives from all relevant interests, and a recommendations report for consideration of the Idaho Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Idaho Water Resources Board, and Idaho State Legislature.
