The Langdon Group partnered with the Wallace Stegner Cetner Environmental Dispute Resolution (EDR) Program at University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law to develop and manage the three-part Utah Program on Collaboration. The program was designed to build and sustain capacity for collaboration around environment and natural resource issues among Utah stakeholders.
Created in partnership with local, state and federal government agencies, the program built a common framework for collaborative problem-solving and increased understanding of how to achieve success in complex projects. The benefits were both internal (more effective communication within each organization between policy, program and project levels) and external (more effective communication between and across agencies and with the public). The investment in improved effectiveness of multi-party collaboration was directed at increasing project success and enhancing agency and public trust.
