Water Treatment Plant Arc Flash Hazard Assessment – Lewiston, ID

J-U-B’s Electrical Engineering Group (EEG) conducted an NFPA 70E arc flash hazard assessment study and provided the associated personal protective equipment (PPE) labeling at the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The project involved:

  • Data collection:
    • Obtaining all existing one-line diagram information and equipment locations.
    • Physically inspecting facility and completing one-line diagrams.
    • Physically locating all included electrical equipment.
    • Field verifying equipment ratings, conductor size, and length.
  • Performing studies using ETAP modeling software:
    • Protective device coordination.
    • Short circuit.
    • Arc flash.
  • Providing results:
    • Updating one-line diagrams with study information.
    • Providing tabular report.
    • Printing arc flash labels.
    • Applying arc flash labels
  • Providing Operator training.
