Corridor Environmental Impact Study – Davis & Weber Co. UT

The West Davis Corridor (WDC) Environmental Impact Study (EIS) is the largest transportation environmental study in Utah. The study began in 2010 when the team commenced analyzing potential transportation solutions through Davis and Weber Counties. This EIS has significant history tied to past environmental studies that were surrounded by high conflict and required consensus-building among a wide cross-section of stakeholders.

During the Draft EIS comment period, the Shared Solution Coalition (Coalition), a stakeholder group, proposed that an alternative described as a “Shared Solution” be studied as part of the EIS. Per the EIS process, all alternative ideas brought forward by the public are evaluated to determine if the alternative meets the transportation need and can reasonably be implemented. Since the release of the Draft EIS in 2013, TLG has assisted in the coordination between UDOT and the Coalition, resulting in a memorandum of agreement. To date, TLG has facilitated five alternative development workshops involving the cities and counties within the study area as well as the Utah Transit Authority and Wasatch Front Regional Council. In addition to these workshops, the WDC team and the Coalition have held over a dozen interim meetings to further develop and refine the Shared Solution Alternative.
