J-U-B Engineers (JUB), The Langdon Group (TLG) and the City of Kuna (Idaho) recently received the Idaho American Planning Associations (APA) Public Outreach Award for their work on the Kuna Downtown Revitalization Plan.

In 2014 the City of Kuna partnered with JUB and TLG to initiate a Downtown Revitalization process. In short, this process started by securing the necessary grant funding to sponsor the plan and through early engagement of key stakeholder agencies including the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS), Ada County Highway District (ACHD), Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and The Jeff Tunison Community Fund through Capital Matrix. This coordinated agency effort helped push this from the theoretical stage to the official planning stage.

Fast forward to today, the City of Kuna finds itself with a realistic and inclusive successful Downtown Revitalization Plan. Because of the focused approach to public outreach and involvement, the City has been rewarded in a big way, not only through grant and match funding, but with local and agency buy-in and investment that will result in a new Main Street come August 2017.
